Regular care and maintenance of your Salamander windows

Profile Cleaning

Use mild cleaning agents, avoid abrasives and solvents.

Seal Maintenance

Regularly check and clean seals to remove dust and pollen.

Hardware Lubrication

Lubricate moving parts regularly.

Drainage Check

Keep water drainage channels clear and unobstructed.

Care of Profiles and Seals

To clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the profiles, use mild household cleaners like dish soap — avoid abrasive powders and solvents such as nitro thinners. After cleaning, always rinse with clean water.

Check the seals regularly for any damage and replace them if necessary (by a professional). Clean the seals from dust and pollen, and inspect drainage openings to ensure they’re not blocked — clean them carefully as needed.

Hardware Care and Maintenance

Adjusting window hardware or removing/reinstalling window sashes should only be done by qualified professionals. Clean the hardware regularly and remove any dirt or debris. Inspect all moving parts once a year for wear.

Lubricate locking mechanisms, pins, hinges, and corner bearings with a light oil or suitable maintenance spray. Regularly check and tighten the screws that secure the fittings if needed.

Handling Window Sashes

Avoid placing objects between the sash and frame, and do not put additional weight on the sash. Never force the sash against a wall to prevent potential damage. Be cautious to avoid pinching fingers, especially when operating sliding doors.

Maintenance of foil-coated profiles

Clean foil-coated profiles with water. If necessary, use a mild household cleaner or a diluted glass cleaner. Always test any cleaner on a hidden area first. Avoid products containing alcohol.
Thanks to the smooth surface of the foil, dirt does not easily adhere, so additional care is usually unnecessary.

By following these guidelines, you’ll ensure the long-term performance and appearance of your Salamander windows.
